Richen urea 13c test principle:
This kit is based on that gastric Helicobacter pylori can secrete much active urease and urease can break down urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide (CO2). Urease does not exist in mammalian cells, and other types of bacteria have not yet been found in the stomach, so if there is urease in the stomach, it indicates the existence of Helicobacter pylori. So by collecting the CO2 and measuring the changes of isotope ratio of 13C/12C in the gas, Helicobacter pylori infected in the stomach can be detected. Helicobacter pylori is the important cause of chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer, and detecting the bacteria has become a clinical need for treatment.
